ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE TO INITIATE AN AMENDMENT TO THE HAWAII COUNTY
CHARTER (1991) RELATING TO THE POWERS OF THE COUNTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Article II of the Hawaii County Charter is amended by adding a new
section to read as follows:
SECTION 2-3. POLITICAL SUBDIVISIONS: Whenever permitted by State
law. the council by Ordinance may create political entities within the County,
assign them such powers and duties as are appropriate and demarcate the
,geographical boundaries of such entities.
SECTION 2. New materials are underscored. In printing this ordinance, the
underscoring need not be included.
SECTION 3. This amendment shall take effect upon its approval by the voters.
