ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 22, OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983
(1995 EDITION), RELATING TO STREETS AND SIDEWALKS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 22, article 1, division 5, section 22-20, of the Hawaii County Code
1983 (1995 edition), is amended to read as follows:
Section 22-20. Permit required.
No person shall place, leave, or deposit for the purpose of displaying,
vending, hawking, selling, or soliciting any goods, wares, or merchandise on any
sidewalk within the [city limits of Hilo] Countv without first obtaining a permit
from the council in the manner provided in this article.
SECTION 2. Material to be repealed is bracketed. New material is underscored. In
printing this ordinance, the brackets, bracketed material and underscoring need not be included.
SECTION 3. If any provision of this ordinance, or the application thereof to any person
or circumstance, is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications
of the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to
this end, the provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
