AN ORDINANCE TO INITIATE AN AMENDMENT TO THE HAWAII COUNTY CHARTER (199 1) RELATING TO THE POWERS OF THE COUNTY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: SECTION 1. Article V, Chapter 4. Section 5-4.1 ofthe Hawaii County Charter is amended as follows: Section 5-4.1 Organization. There shall be a planning department consisting of a planning director, planning commission(,j), and the necessary staff. The council by ordinance may create such planning commissions within the County assim them such powers and duties as are appropriate and demarcate the geographical boundaries of such entities. SECTION 2. New materials are underscored. In printing this ordnance, the underscoring need not be included. SECTION 3. This amendment shall take effect upon its approval by the voters.
