RESOLUTION NO. 294 15
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO KA`U RURAL
HEALTH COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION, INC. FOR THE BETTER CHOICES,
BETTER HEALTH DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SUPPORT GROUP.
WHEREAS, Kali Rural Health Community Association, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt
nonprofit organization that supports and promotes community empowerment through education
and economic development opportunities; and
WHEREAS, Kali Rural Health Community Association, Inc. needs funds to pay for
registration fees for CPR First Aide Certification, the Leadership Conference, travel, and lodging
in support of outreach and prevention programs for the Better Choices, Better Health Domestic
Violence Support Group; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to
the Department of Research and Development to provide a grant to Kali Rural Health
Community Association, Inc. for the Better Choices, Better Health Domestic Violence Support
Group; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney and Director of Finance, and that the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the
terms of this resolution.
