RESOLUTION NO. 307 IS
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE
INTERNATIONAL CHURCH OF THE FOURSQUARE GOSPEL TO ASSIST WITH
EXPENSES RELATING TO THE PAHOA PANTRY AND SOUP KITCHEN.
WHEREAS, the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
organization affiliated with New Hope Christian Fellowship Puna; and
WHEREAS, New Hope Christian Fellowship Puna operates the Pahoa Pantry and Soup
Kitchen at the Pahoa Community Center; and
WHEREAS, the Food Pantry provides bags of groceries to needy individuals, couples,
and families on the second Friday of each month; and
WHEREAS, the Soup Kitchen serves people on Tuesdays and Fridays beginning at
4:30 p.m.; and
WHEREAS, the Pahoa Pantry and Soup Kitchen, being dependent on donations to assist
the Puna community by providing a safe, alcohol-free place for people to receive a meal,
requests funds to defray the cost of food and eating utensils; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to
the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to the International Church of the
Foursquare Gospel to defray the cost of food and eating utensils for the Pahoa Pantry and Soup
Kitchen; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Liquor Control and Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
