RE: RESOLUTION 285-15, requesting the Hawai'i State Legislature to recognize
November 28 as "La Ku`oko`a" in honor of Hawai`i Independence Day.
I humbly request for this memo to be read into public record by Council Chair Dru Kanuha to
my fellow council members present at the October 7th Council meeting during discussion on
Resolution 285-15, requesting the Hawai`i State Legislature to recognize November 28 as "La
Ku`oko`a" in honor of Hawai`i Independence Day.
As a native Hawaiian, I share my full support for said Resolution. I believe this resolution is one
of many initiatives to recognize Hawai`i as an independent nation and empower Hawaiians of
aboriginal descent and Hawaiian nationals. I humbly request from my fellow council members
to join me in support of Resolution 285-15.
