Subject: Resolution #272-15
Aloha Chair Kanuha and Members of the Hawaii County Council,
I am testifying in opposition to Resolution 272-15, and in support of Mayor Billy Kenoi,
It is so sad that we are putting so much energy on these negative things which has happened.
Our Mayor paid it back and I'm sure it will never happen again.
Lets focus on what he has done for the County in this last 7 years which I believe no other Mayor has
done
for the children of Hawaii;
I am going to speak of the items in our district, working with our Council Women we now have
someplace for the
children to go to instead of hanging around Honokaa town and getting in to trouble.
A Skate Board Park: Children no longer skate on the side walks and frighten the store owners and
people walking
on the side walks, an accident waiting to happen and County or State getting suited.
A Statium ( Rose Andrade -Correira): This will be used not only for Rodeos but for all kind of things.
There was never an area which was we could hold a event, and not worry about safety and
shelter. We now can have 4-H shows,concerts, and area where a large crowds can have a
gathering. This is very grand place, with covered Bleachers and clean facilities for our Hawaii Island
to enjoy.
Whenever there is a change of some kind going on in our District, the Mayor and his staff comes out
and explains what's going to be happening, whether it be Water changes, Budget changes, or
concerns with Waipo Valley or something thats going to affect the people of the island. THEY Listen
to what the people wants, not what they want and try to be non -transparent as pervious
administrations, its always TRANSPARENT.
Our Mayor has brought back trust, yes he made a mistake but lets move on.
Coming from a ranchers perspective, he knows the value on keeping agriculture lands in agriculture
and not
selling it to big Developers. We need locally ground Products to keep Hawaii Healthy!!
Stop wasting negative energy, there is alot that needs to be done in our island.Lets get it
done.
The Council should not waste OUR time in such a Resolution, this has be come a "witch
hunt"_
