Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation, to which was referred Bill No. 94,
reports as follows:
Bill No. 94, transmitted by Public Works Director Warren H.W. Lee, via Communication
No. 477 dated August 28, 2015, amends Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 5, of the Hawai`i
County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended), relating to parking.
The bill adds portion of Kalawa Street to Schedule 28 (No parking at anytime), Subsection (f),
Kona.
Council Chair Dru Kanuha spoke in support of Bill No. 94. He expressed his gratitude to the
Department of Public Works for addressing safety in this area of the Kona community.
Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation is in accord with the purpose and
intent of Bill No. 94, and recommends its passage on first reading.
