RESOLUTION NO. 315 15
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR THE USE OF SPECIAL DUTY OFFICERS
DURING THE 2015 PAHOA HOLIDAY PARADE.
WHEREAS, the Pahoa Holiday Parade is an annual event to promote local business and
overall well-being of Pahoa town that has been sponsored by the Mainstreet Pahoa Association
for the past 15 years; and
WHEREAS, Mainstreet Pahoa Association has identified financial need for the use of
special duty officers during the two-hour parade; and
WHEREAS, special duty officers assist with traffic control at intersections along the
parade route, which is essential to ensuring a safe environment for participants and spectators;
and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to
the Police Department for the use of special duty officers during the 2015 Pahoa Holiday Parade;
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Chief of Police and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance is
hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
