RESOLUTION NO. 318 15
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO ASSIST THE MASS TRANSIT AGENCY WITH
TRANSPORTING WEST HAWAII KUPUNA CLIENTS OF ALU LIKE, INC., FOR AN
ALL-DAY EXCURSION.
WHEREAS, ALU LIKE, Inc., is a statewide, nonprofit organization that assists Native
Hawaiians of all ages by providing cultural enrichment and helping them to achieve social and
economic self-sufficiency; and
WHEREAS, ALU LIKE, Inc., is coordinating transportation services for kupuna clients
of its Ke Ola Pono No Na Kupuna program in West Hawai`i for an all-day excursion on
November 9, 2015, to visit the Parker Ranch Shopping Center in Waimea, the Pololu Valley
Lookout in Kohala, and the King Kamehameha Statue in Kapa'au; and
WHEREAS, the Mass Transit Agency collaborates with community organizations, such
as ALU LIKE, Inc., to help provide kupuna transportation for excursions in the community; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to
the Mass Transit Agency to assist with transporting West Hawai`i kupuna clients of ALU LIKE,
Inc., for an all-day excursion on November 9, 2015; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Mass Transit Administrator and Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
