RE: Request to authorize the hiring of Leong Kunihiro Benton & Brooke as
special counsel for Department of Human Resources, Health & Safety
Division, Workers' Compensation Branch
The Office of the Corporation Counsel respectfully requests the above matter be
agendized for executive session at the November 4, 2015, meeting of the Hawaii County
Council.
This request is made pursuant to § 92-5(a)(4) and (8), Hawai'i Revised Statutes, as
amended ("HRS"). We anticipate discussion on questions and issues pertaining to the Council's
powers, duties,privileges, immunities and liabilities in the hiring of special counsel, as well as
discussion on pricing information protected from present disclosure pursuant to HRS §§ 103D-
304(f) and 103D-105.
