Authorizes the Department of Parks and Recreation to Award Funds to Kailapa
Community Association
Dear Chair Eoff and Members of the Finance Committee:
My name is Ian B. Lee Loy, resident in the Pana'ewa area of Hilo, Council District 3 and
a Hawaiian Homes beneficiary. I write in support.of Council Resolution 310-15, which would
authorize the Department of Parks and Recreation to awards funds to the Kailapa Community
Association to assist with funding for the develop a community park and playground.
These types of grants are important in the development of cohesive homestead
communities and the support of these monies help multi -generational families living together by
providing a recreational place for both our keiki and our kupuna.
I urge the members of the committee to approve Resolution 310-15.
