Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Communication No. 512, reports as follows:
Communication No. 512, submitted by Mayor William P. Kenoi dated October 2, 2015, nominates
Kristen L. "Lehua" Dirks Ah Sam to the North Kohala Community Development Plan Action
Committee for a four-year term.
Ms. Dirks Ah Sam was introduced by Charmaine Shigemura, Executive Assistant to Mayor Kenoi, and
appeared by videoconference from North Kohala. Council Member Wille expressed support for the
nomination and urged her colleagues' support. Ms. Dirks Ah Sam expressed appreciation for the
nomination.
Ms. Dirks Ah Sam was informed that she is not required to be present for Council confirmation.
Your Committee on Planning is in accord with the purpose and intent of Communication No. 512, and
recommends confirmation of the appointment of Kristen L. "Lehua" Dirks Ah Sam to the North Kohala
Community Development Plan Action Committee.
