•RESOLUTION NO. 325 15
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE HAWAII STATE ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES'
SLATE OF OFFICERS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2015-2016.
WHEREAS, the Hawai`i State Association of Counties (HSAC) is a nonprofit
corporation comprised of members of the four county councils of the State of Hawai`i; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 5 of the HSAC Bylaws, each council shall take
appropriate action on the proposed slate of HSAC officers prior to the annual meeting of the
general membership, which was held in June 2015; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 197-15 proposed the slate of HSAC officers for fiscal year
2015-2016 and was discussed on June 3, 2015, however, the resolution failed; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 5 of the HSAC Bylaws, if the slate of officers is not
approved at the general membership meeting, the current officers shall continue in the same
office until a new slate is approved; and
WHEREAS, the HSAC Executive Committee, at its special committee meeting on
September 30, 2015, approved the new slate of officers for HSAC for fiscal year 2015-2016;
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following slate of officers is approved for fiscal year 2015-2016:
President: County of Maui
Michael P. Victorino, Maui County Council
(Gladys Baisa, Alternate)
Vice President: County of Hawai`i
Dennis "Fresh" Onishi, Hawaii County Council
(Daniel K. Paleka Jr., Alternate)
Treasurer: City and County of Honolulu
J. Ikaika Anderson, Honolulu City Council
(Joey Manahan, Alternate)
Secretary: County of Kaua`i
Mel Rapozo, Kauai County Council
(Ross Kagawa, Alternate)
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the President and Secretary of the Hawai`i State Association of Counties.
