Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Communication No. 522, reports as follows:
Communication No. 522, submitted by Mayor William P. Kenoi dated October 9, 2015, nominates
Benjamin N.Ney to the North Kohala Community Development Plan Action Committee for a four-year
term. Communication No. 522.1, submitted by Mayor Kenoi dated October 20, 2015, provides the
correct date of the end of the term as "September 9, 2019."
Mr.Ney was introduced by Committee Chair Ilagan. During public testimony, Mr.Ney expressed
gratitude for the nomination and said he would support affordable housing opportunities in North
Kohala. Ms. Wille expressed support for the nomination. Mr. Ney was informed that he is not required
to be present for Council confirmation.
Your Committee on Planning is in accord with the purpose and intent of Communication No. 522, and
recommends confirmation of the appointment of Benjamin N. Ney to the North Kohala Community
Development Plan Action Committee.
