Your Committee on Planning,to which was referred Bill No. 108, reports as follows:
Bill No. 108, transmitted by Mayor William P. Kenoi, via Communication No. 523 dated
October 6, 2015, amends Section 25-8-3 (North Kona Zone Map), Article 8, Chapter 25 (Zoning Code)
of the Hawai`i County Code 1983 (2005 Edition), by changing the district classification from
Agricultural-Twenty Acres (A-20a)to Family Agricultural-One Acre (FA-1a) at Kalaoa 5th,
North Kona, Hawai`i, covered by Tax Map Key: 7-3-004:012. The applicant is Brett W. Ritchie, and
the subject parcel covers approximately 5.94 acres.
The Leeward Planning Commission, at its duly held public hearing on September 17, 2015,
recommended approval of this item.
Sidney Fuke, Planning Consultant, appeared on behalf of the applicant. Ms. Eoff stated that she had
spoken with Mr. Fuke and that she felt this bill complies with the Community Development Plan and the
General Plan, and that she would support it.
Your Committee on Planning is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 108, and recommends
passage on first reading.
