Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Bill No. 110, reports as follows:
Bill No. 110, transmitted by Mayor William P. Kenoi via Communication No. 525 dated
October 12, 2015, amends Section 25-8-33 (City of Hilo Zone Map), Article 8, Chapter 25
(Zoning Code) of the Hawai`i County Code 1983 (2005 Edition), by changing the district
classification from Single Family Residential— 10,000 square feet (RS-10)to Neighborhood
Commercial—20,000 square feet (CN-20) at Waiakea House Lots, South Hilo, Hawai`i, covered
by Tax Map Key: 2-2-034:083. The applicant is Nimr Tamimi, and the subject parcel covers
22,000 square feet. The applicant is requesting a Change of Zone to establish manufacturing and
retail uses on-site, including the construction of a new 6,300 square foot building.
The Windward Planning Commission, at its duly held public hearing on October 1, 2015, recommended
approval of this item.
There was no discussion.
Your Committee on Planning is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 110, and recommends
passage on first reading.
