requested will allow the Puna Lions to reach out to the smallest of our
keiki at preschools, churches and community events, as well as expand our
school age vision screening programs to include the charter schools.
The Puna Lions will work with Clinical Health students from Pahoa
and Keaau High Schools. This will allow the students to gain valuable
experience in their field of interest.
Last year, East Hawaii Lions Clubs vision screened over 800 students
in the Puna district. With this camera we hope to be able to screen even
more keiki.
We are truly appreciative of the support of the County Council and in
particular are grateful to Mr. Ilagan and Mr. Paleka for proposing this
resolution.
