ORDINANCE NO. i S, J-12
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24, ARTICLE 10, DIVISION 5, OF THE
HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 (2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED), RELATING TO
PARKING.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The purpose of this amendment is based on concerns that vehicles are
parking in this heavily used beach area in places too narrow for parking. Approval of these
amendments would allow for the appropriate no parking signs to be installed and for proper
police enforcement to be done.
SECTION 2. Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 5, Section 24-280, Schedule 28, No
parking at anytime, subsection (f), Kona, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 edition, as
amended) is amended by adding new items and renumbering as required, as follows:
( ) Manini Beach Road north (makai) side from Pu`uhonua Road and
extending eight hundred fifty-five feet in the southwesterly
direction_
( ) Manini Beach Road west (makai) side from a point one thousand
feet south of Pu`uhonua Road and extending one hundred twenty-
five feet in the southerly direction.
�) Manini Beach Road west (makai) side from a point one thousand
one hundred fifty feet south of Pu`uhonua Road and extending fifty
feet in the southerly direction.
( ) Manini Beach Road west (makai) side, from a point one thousand
two hundred forty feet south of Pu`uhonua Road to Kahauloa Road.
( ) Manini Beach Road south (mauka) side from Pu`uhonua Road and
extending nine hundred five feet in the southwesterly direction.
( ) Manini Beach Road east (mauka) side from a point nine hundred
seventy feet south of Pu`uhonua Road to Kahauloa Road.
( ) Kahauloa Street, north (makai) side.
Kahauloa Street south (mauka) side, from Kahauloa Road to a point
thirty-six feet west of Manini Beach Road.
( ) Kahauloa Street south (mauka) side, from a point seventy-two feet
west of Manini Beach Road to its western terminus.
( ) Kahauloa Road, north (makai) side.
( ) Kahauloa Road, south (mauka) side, from Pu`uhonua Road and
extending eighty feet in the westerly direction.
( ) Kahauloa Road south (mauka) side, from a point five feet west of Kahauloa
Street to its western terminus.
SECTION 3. Material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New material is
underscored. In printing this ordinance, the brackets, bracketed and stricken material and
underscoring need not be included.
SECTION 4. Severability. If any provision of this ordinance, or the application thereof
to any person or circumstance, is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or
applications of the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or
application, and to this end, the provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
