RESOLUTION NO. 352 15
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR THE LABOR COST TO BUILD THE SECOND
PHASE OF THE NORTH KOHALA SKATE PARK.
WHEREAS, the North Kohala Skate Park (NKSP) provides the community with a
recreational environment for skateboarding; and
WHEREAS, outdoor activities provide physical, social, emotional, and intellectual
benefits; and
WHEREAS, community skate parks provide a gathering place for youth of all ages and
transcends the barriers of economic background, age, and social status; and
WHEREAS, work has already begun on the second phase of the NKSP to expand the
skate park to include additional ramps; and
WHEREAS, three drains, three drywell rings, and an industrial lid, the major
components of a drainage system, have been donated and installed by the community; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation has committed to providing all the
materials needed to complete the remainder of the second phase, however, additional funds are
needed to cover the labor cost; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to
the Department of Parks and Recreation for the labor cost to construct the second phase of the
NKSP; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance, and that the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
