RESOLUTION NO. 359 1.6
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE PAHOA
SCHOOLS SUPPORT FOUNDATION FOR A COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT
DAY.
WHEREAS, the Pahoa Schools Support Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
organization that supports schools in the Pahoa Village area; and
WHEREAS, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Pahoa High and Intermediate
School will be holding a Community Service Project Day on January 18, 2016; and
WHEREAS, clubs, sports teams, parents, students, teachers, staff, and community
members will work together to repaint benches and other areas on their campus for the general
improvement of their school; and
WHEREAS, the Pahoa Schools Support Foundation requests funds to provide paint
supplies and breakfast and lunch for the volunteers; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to
the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to the Pahoa Schools Support
Foundation for expenses related to the Community Service Project Day on January 18, 2016,
including supplies and meals for volunteers; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Prosecuting Attorney and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance
is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
