RESOLUTION NO. 378 16
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR A BRONZE PLAQUE FOR THE ROBERT
RALEIGH MARTIN MUNICIPAL PARKING CENTER IN HONOKA`A TOWN.
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 457-82 was introduced by Council Member Takashi
Domingo of Council District 1 and adopted on October 20, 1982, which established the Robert
Raleigh Martin Municipal Parking Center in Honoka`a town; and
WHEREAS, as District Road Overseer for Hawai`i County for 14 years, Raleigh was
known as a doer who often took on big and complex assignments; and
WHEREAS, his ultimate goal was to improve the public image of County road crews in
District 1 and serve as an inspiration with his no-nonsense approach to duty and work; and
WHEREAS, as he improved road conditions for the greater good and served his
community in a most admirable manner, Raleigh's work ethic and morals exemplified his natural
ability as a leader; and
WHEREAS, a commemorative bronze plaque will be installed at the Robert Raleigh
Martin Municipal Parking Center in honor of the late Robert Raleigh Martin, an exemplary
citizen who demonstrated his love and devotion to his family, his church, his community, and to
his country throughout his lifetime; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to
the Department of Public Works for the purchase and installation of a bronze plaque at the
Robert Raleigh Martin Municipal Parking Center in Honoka`a town; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Public Works and Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
