Dear Chairman Kanuha and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Mr. Richard H. Bennett of Council District 6 to the County
of Hawaii Environmental Management Commission. He is a 16-year resident of
Hawaii. Mr. Bennett is the owner of Applied Life Sciences LLC.
Mr. Bennett is the founding director of Kona Land Trust and the past director of
Hawaiian Islands Land Trust. He is the science advisor for the Hawai'i Community
Cultural and Environmental Foundation. If contirmed, he will fill a vacant term to expire
on December 31, 2019.
