RESOLUTION NO. 387 16
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HOSPICE OF HILO TO
ASSIST WITH THE PURCHASE OF LAPTOPS AND SOFTWARE TO IMPROVE
PATIENT CARE.
WHEREAS, Hospice of Hilo is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides care
beyond the cure for those facing life-limiting illness, death, or grief and whose vision is to touch
every life with compassionate care, comfort, and a sense of peace in time of need; and
WHEREAS, Hospice of Hilo is requesting funds to purchase new laptops and software
for home visits,patient records maintenance, and access to advanced skills training for its
clinical staff; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to
the Office of Aging to provide a grant to Hospice of Hilo to assist with the purchase of laptops
and software to further improve patient care and support; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the County Executive on Aging and Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
