Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Communication No. 628, reports as follows:
Communication No. 628, submitted by Mayor William P. Kenoi dated January 4, 2016, nominates Mark
S. Gordon for a four-year term to the South Kohala Community Development Plan Action Committee.
Mr. Gordon was introduced by Char Shigemura, Executive Assistant to Mayor Kenoi. Mr. Gordon
stated that he feels privileged and honored to be nominated to the committee. He further stated he would
like to get more involved with the community.
Ms. Wille expressed gratitude to Mr. Gordon for his willingness to serve, and looks forward to the end
of the committee having trouble reaching quorum. She also urged Mr. Gordon to oppose plans for the
committee to meet every other month.
Mr. Gordon was informed that he is not required to be present for Council confirmation.
Your Committee on Planning is in accord with the purpose and intent of Communication No. 628, and
recommends confirmation of the appointment of Mark S. Gordon to the South Kohala Community
Development Plan Action Committee.
