Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Bill No. 129, reports as follows:
Bill No. 129, transmitted by Mayor William P. Kenoi via Communication No. 615 dated November 23,
2015, amends Section 25-8-33 (City of Hilo Zone Map), Article 8, Chapter 25 (Zoning Code) of the
Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition) by changing the district classification from Agricultural-
Three Acres (A-3a) to Residential and Agricultural-One Acre (RA-la) at Pana`ewa House Lots, South
Hilo, Hawaii, covered by Tax Map Key: 2-2-052:027. The applicant is Brad McClary, and the subject
parcel covers 2.73 acres. The applicant states he would like to create a two-lot residential-agricultural
subdivision and build a new single-family dwelling on the new lot to be used as a home for elderly
relatives.
There was no discussion.
The Windward Planning Commission, at its duly held public hearing on November 5, 2015,
recommended approval of this bill.
Your Committee on Planning is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 129, and recommends
passage on first reading.
