Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Bill No. 131, reports as follows:
Bill No. 131, transmitted by Mayor William P. Kenoi via Communication No. 616 dated December 4,
2015, amends Section 25-8-7 (North and South Kohala District Zone Map), Article 8, Chapter 25
(Zoning Code) of the Hawai`i County Code 1983 (2005 Edition) by changing the district classification
from Agricultural-Five Acres (A-5a) to Residential and Agricultural-Two Acres (RA-2a) at Kanehoa
Subdivision, South Kohala, Hawai`i, covered by Tax map Key: 6-2-009:013. The applicants are Kurt
Shively and Jason Shively, and the subject parcel covers 5.497 acres. The applicants propose to
subdivide the property into two lots and plan to build a home on the new lot for a family member.
There was no discussion.
The Leeward Planning Commission, at its duly held public hearing on November 19, 2015, voted to
recommend approval of this item.
Your Committee on Planning is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 131, and recommends
passage on first reading.
