RESOLUTION NO. 402 16
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE BIG ISLAND
WAVE RIDERS AGAINST DRUGS FOR THE BIG ISLAND COMMUNITY BEACH
CLEANUP.
WHEREAS, the Big Island Wave Riders Against Drugs is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
organization that cosponsors the Big Island Community Beach Cleanup with the County of
Hawai`i; and
WHEREAS, the Big Island Community Beach Cleanup event is scheduled for March 5,
2016, and the community will be participating in the cleanup of beaches from Keauhou to
Kawaihae and Honoli`i Beach Park; and
WHEREAS, the Big Island Wave Riders Against Drugs promotes unity through drug-
free group participation, as well as community awareness on the importance of keeping our
beaches clean; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to
the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Big Island Wave Riders Against
Drugs to assist with expenses associated with the Big Island Community Beach Cleanup; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Liquor Control and Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
