RESOLUTION NO. 403 16
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE TAXI COUPONS FOR DISABLED
PERSONS THROUGH THE MASS TRANSIT AGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Mass Transit Agency provides the Hele-On Shared Ride Taxi Program
in the Hilo urban area; and
WHEREAS, the Mass Transit Agency has identified a need for shared-ride taxi coupons
for disabled persons to provide a convenient transportation mode to purchase groceries and
attend medical appointments, social events, and recreational activities; and
WHEREAS, taxi coupons for disabled persons will provide transportation alternatives
for the vulnerable population within the community; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to
the Mass Transit Agency to provide shared-ride taxi coupons for disabled persons; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Mass Transit Administrator and Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
