Re: Resolution for multi-year lease
Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the payment of funds for more than one fiscal year
for a new multi-year lease agreement for one track-wheel excavator for the Department
of Environmental Management. This equipment will be used for diverting green-waste
from our landfills.
The anticipated lease cost is approximately$4,450 per month. If there are any questions,

A. REQUEST:
Resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a multi-year lease agreement for one (1) Track Wheel
Excavator for a period of five (5) years for the Department of Environmental Management, Solid Waste
Division.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The Solid Waste Division is requesting to lease one (1) Track Wheel Excavator to be used for diverting green
waste from our landfills.
The County's Solid Waste Division has been supporting the diversion of green waste from our landfills by
providing green waste collection sites at some of the transfer stations. In order to accomplish this task Solid
Waste has been renting an excavator. The Solid Waste Division will be adding additional green waste
collection sites to increase green waste diversion. Leasing to own a track wheel excavator is more cost
effective than continuing to rent one.
Purchase price estimated at $252,000, the estimated lease is $4,450 per month.
Funding for the lease is included in the FY 2015-16 budget. This equipment will be lease financed such that
the County will own the equipment at the end of the five year lease.
