RESOLUTION NO. 421 1G
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO PROJECT VISION
HAWAPI FOR THE 2016 TROPIC CARE PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, Projcet Vision Hawaii is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit agency whose mission is to
enhance the quality of life by improving vision, preventing blindness, and advancing medical
knowledge through community-based research; and
WHEREAS, Project Vision Hawaii will provide free vision screening to the
underserved Ka`u areas during the 2016 Tropic Care Program: and
WHEREAS, funds will be used for the round trip freight cost of transporting a fully
equipped mobile vision clinic van from Oahu to Hilo for the 2016 Tropic Care Program and
other miscellaneous costs associated with the operation of having the mobile vision clinic van
located in a centralized location in the rural underserved communities; and
WHEREAS, Project Vision Hawaii will be able to focus its efforts on children, families,
and seniors in the community to participate in these tree services; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2439(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to
the Department of Research and Development to provide a grant to Project Vision I lawai`i for
the 2016 Tropic Care Program; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Research and Development and Director of Finance, and that the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the
terms of this resolution.
