Re: Resolution for multi-year lease
Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to enter into a
two-year extension to the current lease for their Kona office in Kealakekua. This office,
identified by TMK (3) 8-1-003-049(por.), is located at the Kealakekua Business Plaza,
81-980 Haleki`i Street, Suite #150, Kealakekua, Hawaii 96750.

A. REQUEST:
Prepare County Council submittal authorizing the County of Hawaii Prosecutors Office to enter into a Fourth
Extension and Amendment of Kealakekua Business Plaza Lease for a two year extension at the Kealakekua
Business Plaza.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The County of Hawaii Prosecutors Office currently leases office space at the Kealakekua Business Plaza
located at tax map key (3) 8-1-003:049 portion. The proposed lease amendment is for a two year period
from July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2018. The current office space provides adequate space for the Prosecutors'
current needs in terms of space and privacy for servicing victims and witnesses of crimes in West Hawaii, as
well as victims and witnesses of crimes occuring in other areas but who may live in West Hawaii. The
Prosecutors Office wishes to extend the lease for two years while it pursues the construction of a new facility
in West Hawaii.
