Re: Ratify Jak Hu Appointment to the Hawai`i Police Commission
Communication No. 629.1 (attached) informs the Council that Mr. Jak Hu, a recent appointee to
the Hawaii Police Commission, is a resident of District 7 rather than District 8 and is to serve an
appointment to expire on December 31, 2019, rather than December 31, 2020. These are
corrections to Communication No. 629, which initiated the request for appointment. I will be
placing this matter on the March 16, 2016, Council agenda so that the Council may ratify its vote
to appoint Mr. Hu to the Hawaii Police Commission under the terms described in
Communication No. 629.1; that Mr. Hu will represent District 7 and will serve a term to expire
on December 31, 2019.

Please make the following correction to correspondence dated January 4, 2016
regarding Mr. Jak Hu's council district and term expiration date.
Mr. Hu resides in Council District 7, and not in Council District 8, and his term will expire
on December 31, 2019 and not on December 31, 2020 as previously stated.
