RESOLUTION NO. 44'"'i 16
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PAY FOR TREES AND BENCHES ALONG ANE
KEOHOKALOLE HIGHWAY.
WHEREAS, the County of Hawai`i recognizes that improvements to walking and biking
infrastructure contributes to the health, safety, transportation options, and quality of life for
Hawaii Island residents and visitors; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works seeks a funding source to pay for trees and
benches along Ane Keohokalole Highway to integrate and accommodate bicycle and pedestrian
modes of travel as described in the Goals of the Department of Public Works, and as provided
for in Section 13.4.3 of the Hawai`i County General Plan; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to
the Department of Public Works to pay for trees and benches along Ane Keohokalole Highway;
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

CREDITED TO:
010.173.5173.02 Department of Public Works $10,000

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Public Works and Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
