RE: Report: Attendance a Co s' unity Enterprises West Hawaii Forum
Regarding Hawaii County's General Plan and Future Impacts
In accordance with HRS § 92-2.5(e), I am reporting the attendance of myself and Council
Members Kanuha and Eoff at a community forum held on March 10, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. in the
Council Chambers of the West Hawaii Civic Center 74-5044 Ane Keohokalole Highway,
Kailua-Kona, Hilo, Hawai`i.
A panel of presenters consisted of County Planning Director, Duane Kanuha, Michael J.
Matsukawa, Esq., and Executive Director of La'i O'pua 2020 who discussed the County of
Hawaii General Plan through the perspectives of government,the general public, and
community organizations. Discussions regarding Hawaii County's General Plan review relates
to potential Council board business.
HRS § 92-2.5(e) provides that two or more members of a board, but less than a quorum, may
attend an informational meeting or presentation on matters relating to official board business,
including a meeting of another entity, legislative hearing, convention, seminar, or community
meeting; provided that the meeting or presentation is not specifically and exclusively organized
for or directed toward members of the board. The section further provides that at the next duly
noticed meeting of the board,the board members shall report their attendance and the matters
presented and discussed that related to official board business.
