RESOLUTION NO. 452 16
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE HILO SKATE
PLAZA COALITION, INC. FOR THE 2016 ST. PATRICK'S DAY PARADE.
WHEREAS, the Hilo Skate Plaza Coalition, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
that has agreed to support the third annual St. Patrick's Day Parade in Hilo; and
WHEREAS, the St. Patrick's Day Parade, held on March 19, 2016, has been planned as
a public and alcohol-free event that brings together many people to celebrate community spirit
and Irish culture; and
WHEREAS, the Hilo Skate Plaza Coalition, Inc. is requesting funds to assist with
expenses related to providing special duty police officers along the parade route, advertising, and
public notices; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to
the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Hilo Skate Plaza Coalition, Inc., for a
reimbursement of expenses relating to the 2016 St. Patrick's Day Parade in Hilo; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Liquor Control and Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
