RESOLUTION NO. 453 16
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO KEA'AU COUGARS
ATHLETIC BOOSTERS FOR KEA'AU HIGH SCHOOL PROJECT GRAD NIGHT.
WHEREAS, Kea'au Cougars Athletic Boosters is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that
supports the student-athletes of Kea'au High School; and
WHEREAS, Kea'au Cougars Athletic Boosters is assisting with the annual Project Grad
Night, a fun and safe event that immediately follows commencement exercises for Kea'au High
School's Class of 2016; and
WHEREAS, Kea'au Cougars Athletic Boosters requests funds to assist it in providing a
safe, enjoyable, alcohol-free and drug-free event for the Kea'au High School Class of 2016; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports youth programs that promote
alcohol- and drug-free events, including Project Grad Night activities; and
WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to
the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to Kea'au Cougars Athletic Boosters for
Kea'au High School Project Grad Night; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Liquor Control and Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
