RESOLUTION NO. 460 16
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HUI `AUMAKUA
SPORTS, INC. TO ASSIST WITH TRAVEL EXPENSES FOR PLAYERS AND
COACHES.
WHEREAS, Hui 'Aumakua Sports, Inc. (Hui `Aumakua) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
organization that provides youth from the ages of 4 to 14 years the opportunity to participate in
baseball and other amateur sports with the support of coaches, volunteers, and `ohana; and
WHEREAS, 11 players and 5 coaches of Hui `Aumakua, member of the Hilo PONY
League, will be traveling to Maui in May 2016, and to Kaua`i in July 2016 to participate in
tournaments; and
WHEREAS, Hui `Aumakua is requesting funding assistance to defray the cost of airfare,
boarding, and ground transportation; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to
the Department of Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to Hui `Aumakua for interisland
travel expenses for players and coaches; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance, and that the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
