RESOLUTION NO. 467 16
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE WAIAKEA HIGH
SCHOOL FOUNDATION FOR EXPENSES RELATED TO WAIAKEA HIGH
SCHOOL'S INTERNATIONAL STUDENT VISITATION PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the Waiakea High School Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
that assists Waiakea High School with programs and activities that benefit, enhance, and enrich
the learning experience and the lives of the students that attend Waiakea High School; and
WHEREAS, these Waiakea High School programs and activities, such as the
International Student Visitation Program, encourage healthy social and educational interaction
between students, faculty, friends, staff, and other community members in a safe environment
that is smoke-free, drug-free, and alcohol-free; and
WHEREAS, one of the Department of Liquor Control's goals is to support programs that
promote smoke-free, drug-free, and alcohol-free activities and programs conducted in a healthy
and safe environment to benefit those who reside in our County; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to
the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Waiakea High School Foundation to
assist with expenses related to Waiakea High School's International Student Visitation Program,
including, but not limited to: supplies, equipment, transportation, materials, and refreshments;
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Liquor Control and Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
