COUNTY OF HAWAII : ‘.i.6-, ',!!;;\'''.-# STATE OF HAWAII .:••4rt os M►.'M RESOLUTION NO. 472 16 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF THE DONATION OF A SCENT TRACKING DOG FROM THE FRIENDS OF THE MISSING CHILD CENTER-HAWAII, FOR USE IN TRACKING AND LOCATING MISSING PERSONS WHEREAS, the Friends of the Missing Child Center-Hawaii is donating a scent tracking canine, to the Hawaii County Police Department; and WHEREAS, this canine, named Falcon, whose estimated value is $5,000, will be utilized to help locate missing persons; and WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by resolution approved by the Council; and WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department recommends the acceptance of this donation; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the Council of the County of Hawai`i accepts this donation. BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution be sent to Sam Aiona, President, Friends of the Missing Child Center-Hawai`i, P.O.
