RESOLUTION NO. 466 16
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO ST. JOSEPH SCHOOL
FOR EXPENSES RELATED TO ST. JOSEPH HIGH SCHOOL INTERACT CLUB'S
INTERNATIONAL STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, St. Joseph School is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that assists St.
Joseph High School with programs and activities that benefit the students that attend the school,
including student exchange programs and other service projects; and
WHEREAS, these St. Joseph High School programs and activities, such as the
International Student Exchange Program, encourage healthy social and educational interaction
between students, faculty, friends, staff and other community members in a safe environment
that is smoke-free, drug-free and alcohol-free; and
WHEREAS, St. Joseph High School's Interact Club is a service club for students ages
12 to 18, which international understanding and goodwill and strives to give back to the
community through service projects; and
WHEREAS, one of the Department of Liquor Control's goals is to support programs that
promote smoke-free, drug-free, and alcohol-free activities and programs conducted in a healthy
and safe environment to benefit those who reside in our County; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the
Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to St. Joseph School to assist with expenses
related to the St. Joseph High School Interact Club's international student exchange program;
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Liquor Control and Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
