SUBJECT: TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT:
KALAPANA-KAPOHO BEACH ROAD — SPEED LIMIT
We request the Hawai'i County Code, Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 1. Speed Limits,
Section 24-257, Schedule 5. 35 mile per hour limit, Paragraph (g) Puna be amended by
adding new item and renumbering as required:
( ) KALAPANA-KAPOHO BEACH ROAD, FROM ITS NORTHERN TERMINUS TO
KAPOHO KAI DRIVE.
This amendment is being proposed as a part of a request to review the existing 30 mph
speed limit along Kalapana-Kapoho Beach Road. A traffic study justified increasing the
speed limit to 35 mph as described.
