RESOLUTION NO. 480 16
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO ORCHIDLAND
NEIGHBORS IN SUPPORT OF A COMMUNITY CENTER IN ORCHIDLAND.
WHEREAS, Orchidland Neighbors is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose vision is
to create a multi-purpose facility to house and develop community capacity through recreational,
educational, and agricultural opportunities for Orchidland and surrounding communities; and
WHEREAS, Orchidland Neighbors is seeking funds to assist with the planning and
permits that would be required for construction of a community center with a classroom and a
picnic area with space for barbecues; and
WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to
the Office of Housing and Community Development to provide a grant to Orchidland Neighbors
to assist with planning and permitting for a community center in Orchidland; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Housing Administrator and Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
