Re: Salary Ordinance of 2016
Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance to be known as the Salary Ordinance of 2016. The
amendments are in section 7 and reflect the new minimum wage which went into law in
2014, along with scheduled annual increases until 2018. The scheduled increase to
minimum wage effective January 1, 2017 is also incorporated.

SUBJECT Salary Ordinance of 2016
Enclosed is a draft copy of the Salary Ordinance of 2016 for submittal to County
Council.
In 2014, the Governor approved scheduled minimum wage increases through
2018. We have incorporated the scheduled increase to minimum wage
effective 01/01/17 into the proposed Salary Ordinance of 2016.
Corporation Counsel has already reviewed the attached draft. If there are any
questions, please contact Jenny Sakamoto at 961-8361.
