RESOLUTION NO. 491 16
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND
RECREATION'S SPORTS WORKSHOPS.
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is in need of funding to provide
educational sports workshops for athletes, parents, coaches, officials, and volunteers to give them
the proper training techniques and tools to be successful; and
WHEREAS, one of the workshops will focus on basketball officiating, which will be
held at the Kekuaokalani Gymnasium in Kona; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawai`i believes that children participating in organized
sports tend to achieve higher results in school, develop excellent interpersonal skills, and lead
healthier lives; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to
the Department of Parks and Recreation to assist with the continuation of these educational
sports workshops; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance, and that the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
