RESOLUTION NO. 506 16
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL
YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR MULTI-YEAR LEASES FOR
THREE (3) COPIERS FOR THE OFFICE OF HOUSING AND COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT.
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or
other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of
more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawai`i wishes to enter into multi-year lease agreements for
five (5) years for three (3) copiers for the Office of Housing and Community Development
("OHCD"); and
WHEREAS, the lease of one of OHCD's copiers currently in use expired in December
2015, and the lease for OHCD's second copier currently in use will expire in April 2016; both
copiers have and will exceed their recommended usage and are constantly being repaired; and
WHEREAS, the lease of OHCD's third copier will be for a new multi-year lease for the
OHCD Office at the West Hawai`i Civic Center location; and
WHEREAS, obtaining leases on technically advanced copiers, which provide more
features and options, will increase staff productivity and will allow them to keep up with the
increased demands placed upon the offices; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII,that the
Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into five (5) year lease agreements for three (3) copiers for
the OHCD.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years
to cover the anticipated obligation of the County under the five (5) year lease agreements.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Office of the Mayor,the OHCD and the Finance Department.
