Bill 181: AMENDS ARTICLE XIII, SECTION 13-4 OF THE HAWAI‘I COUNTY CHARTER (2014), RELATING TO BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS The amendments would apply to boards or commissions established by the Charter, and would: 1) allow council members to appoint members to boards or commissions composed of nine members with district residency requirements if a seat remains vacant for more than 90 days; 2) allow a member appointed for a term of two years or less to be eligible for two additional full terms, and in other cases members would be eligible to serve one additional full term; 3) allow a member, whose term has expired, to serve until a successor is confirmed; and 4) remove language pertaining to political party.
