RESOLUTION NO. 518 16
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL
YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR A MULTI-YEAR LEASE OF
TWO COPY MACHINES FOR THE OFFICE OF THE COUNTY CLERK, SUPPORT
SERVICES DIVISION.
WHEREAS, the Office of the County Clerk, Support Services Division, currently has
two copy machines for black and white print that have each produced over 20 million copies; and
WHEREAS, the five-year lease for the current copy machines has recently expired, and
the estimated monthly payments for a new five-year lease for two copy machines will be
approximately $3,700 a month; and
WHEREAS, the Reprographics account (010.101.5101.21) for the current fiscal year
contains sufficient funds for a new five-year lease of two copy machines for black and white
print; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Article X, Section 10-11 of the Hawai`i County Charter, any
contract, lease, or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later
fiscal year or of more than one fiscal year shall be made or approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-13 of the Hawai`i County Charter, the
County may enter into contracts with private parties, which shall be signed by the Mayor and be
approved by the Director of Finance as to the availability of funds; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a five-year lease agreement for two copy machines for
approximately $3,700 per month for the Office of the County Clerk, Support Services Division.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that sufficient funds shall be budgeted in future fiscal
years to cover the anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the agreement.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Honorable Mayor William P. Kenoi, Director of Finance, and the Support
Services Supervisor.
