ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24, ARTICLE 10, DIVISION 5,OF THE
HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 (2005 EDITION,AS AMENDED), RELATING TO
PARKING
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The purpose of this amendment is to revise the existing no parking areas
in order to provide additional parking along Alii Drive in North Kona.
SECTION 2. Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 5, Section 24-280, Schedule 28,No
parking at anytime, subsection (1), Kona, of the Hawai`i County Code 1983 (2005 edition, as
amended), is amended by revising existing items:
(8) Ali`i Drive, northeast(mauka) side, from Kamehameha III Road Re
Mak Street] and extending eight hundred forty-six feet
northwest of Alii Highway.
(9) Ali`i Drive, east mauka)side, [rani] from a point [nine
hundred thirty five] three hundred seven feet north of Makolea
Street and extending [ : : ,:'. .. . - • - ] one thousand
three hundred thirty-five feet north of[La`aloa Avenue] Makole`a
Street.
(11) Ali`i Drive, northeast(mauka) side, from a point nine hundred forty-
four feet southeast of Lunapule Road and extending [six h.,.�.,undeed
rixty] four hundred sixty-nine feet southeast of Lunapule Road.
SECTION 3. Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 5, Section 24-280, Schedule 28, No
parking at anytime, subsection(f), Kona, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 edition, as
amended), is amended by adding the following items and renumbering appropriately:
( ) Alii Drive, east (mauka) side, from a point five hundred eighty-one
feet south of Makole`a Street and extending seventy-five feet north
of Makole`a Street.
f ) Ali`i Drive, northeast(mauka) side, from a point seven hundred
eighty feet southeast of Queen Kalama Avenue and extending two
thousand nine hundred five feet southeast of Royal Poinciana Drive.
( ) Alii Drive, northeast (mauka) side. from a point two thousand six
hundred ninety-five feet southeast of Royal Poinciana Drive and
extending seventy-five feet northwest of Royal Poinciana Drive
except for the parking fronting the parcel identified by Tax Map Key
Number (3) 7-6-015:009.
SECTION 4. Material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New material is
underscored. In printing this ordinance, the brackets, bracketed and stricken material and
underscoring need not be included.
SECTION 5. Severability. If any provision of this ordinance, or the application thereof
to any person or circumstance, is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or
applications of the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or
application, and to this end, the provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable.
SECTION 6. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
