Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 868,reports as follows:
Communication 868,transmitted by Mayor William P. Kenoi, dated April 7, 2016, requests favorable
recommendation of the nomination of Ms. Grace Reinhard to the Hawai`i County Tax Board of Review.
Ms. Reinhard has resided in Hawai`i for three years and is currently self-employed as a Real Estate Agent
with Big Island Land Co., Ltd.
Executive Assistant Charmaine Shigemura came forward to introduce Nominee Reinhard and requested
Council's favorable action of this appointment. If confirmed, Ms. Reinhard will fill a vacant term that
will expire on December 31, 2020. Ms. Reinhard is not affiliated with any political party.
Nominee Reinhard came forward and commented on her experience and willingness to serve.
Chair Eoff informed Ms. Reinhard that she did not need to appear before the full Council for confirmation
and thanked her for her willingness to serve.
Pursuant to Section 19-96 of the Hawai`i County Code, there shall be a Tax Board of Review for the
County, consisting of five members, appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the council.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Communication No. 868, and
recommends confirmation of the appointment of Ms. Grace Reinhard to the Hawaii County Tax Board of
Review.
